3. Classic Album Oriented Rock from It's no doubt dated but that's the reason for the diversion. This was the second album by Toto at the time. It strikes a good balance between vocals, electric guitar, drums and keyboards but not a heavy use of synthesizers/5().

Unlike the self-titled debut album, Hydra is a serious rock effort and deserves to be in the collection of anyone who enjoys that genre, especially if that enjoyment encompasses the late 70's and early 80's. If you set aside all of your preconceived notions and prejudices, this album sounds very good and has, like a fine wine, improved with age/5(58).
